Hace 12 años los productores que querían traer a Soda Stereo en medio de la gira “Me verás volver” no contaban con el dinero suficiente para financiar el concierto. “Teníamos que pagar un millón de dólares a los artistas y teníamos que poner medio millón más para pagar la producción del concierto. Pero no teníamos la plata y Gustavo Cerati fue quien dijo a los que administraban la gira que si nosotros no cumplíamos con el pago él asumiría la deuda”, recuerda Coqui Fernández, socio director de Move Concerts Perú, la empresa que finalmente pudo traer a Soda Stereo el año 2007.
La explicación de Fernández de por qué Cerati habría avalado el concierto en Lima parece campaña de marketing, pero es verdad. “Gustavo sentía mucho pesar de que el concierto Me Verás Volver no pase por Lima, porque en el 97, en el concierto de despedida no pudieron venir aquí. Además Lima fue la primera ciudad fuera de Argentina donde Soda Stero tocó. Él consideraba a los peruanos como sus padrinos internacionales”, apunta Fernández.

El productor también revela que hay dos detalles que revelan la consideración especial que tenía Cerati por Lima. El primero que durante el concierto el cantante le preguntó a los asistentes “¿Cuál es el público más caliente de Latinoamérica?”. “Esa frase, esa pregunta, puede parecer algo sin importancia, pero es tremendo cuando uno analiza que el artista quiere quedar siempre bien con todos sus públicos. Y decir que el Perú era el público más caliente marcaba una diferencia para él. Porque no lo volvió a decir en ninguna otra ciudad de la gira”, señala Fernández.
Otro detalle es que en Lima fue la única ciudad, aparte de Buenos Aires, donde Soda tocó “El rito”. En las giras los set list casi no tienen variaciones. Pero dicen los expertos en Soda que haber tocado esa canción el Lima y en ninguna otra aparte de Buenos Aires, es una señal de la simpatía especial que tenía la banda por nuestra ciudad.

Soda Stereo se presentará el 3 de marzo en el Estadio Nacional de Lima. La preventa de entradas al “Gracias Totales-Soda Stereo” será este 28 y 29 de noviembre. Mientras que el inicio de la venta general de boletos será desde el 30 de noviembre en Teleticket de Wong y Metro.
